So you're thinking about booking your 30 minute trial lesson with Tutorling, what should you expect? Keep reading to learn how you can make the most of your session!
Do I need to prepare?
No preparation is needed. All you need to do is make sure you have a quiet place to take the Zoom call and that you have a good internet connection (this will help you avoid anyone sounding like a robot!) You might want to use headphones with a microphone so you can hear and be heard clearly.
What can I expect?
Once you have requested a free 30 minute trial lesson, we will send you a sign up form, where you can tell us a little more about your English level and your personal goals and interests.
Next up is your lesson! Your teacher will call you at the agreed time and then your lesson will begin. During the 30 minute session you will have the chance to talk about your targets and any topics or grammar points you would like us to include in your bespoke learning plan. You will also be able to ask your teacher any questions you may have.
You will then try out a few typical exercises with the teacher, so you can see what a lesson with Tutorling is like.
Lessons for younger students are typically a mixtures of songs, stories, learning to identify pictures and some reading. Older or higher level students can expect to listen to exciting podcasts, read news articles or stories and learn to have debates.
No matter your age, your lesson will be fun and relaxed so don't worry about making mistakes.
What if I am studying for IELTS?
As your learning plan is built around you, if you're studying for an exam, we will focus the lessons and exercises around exam technique and past paper practice.
After your trial, a representative from our partner Vivo Education will call you to review your lesson and to see if you would like to build a learning plan. You will have the opportunity to discuss your budget, schedule and targets. This conversation can be in English or Cantonese.
Then, you are ready to start your Tutorling journey, learning English with your personalised plan. See you in class!
